I had driven past the small hamlet of Springwater years earlier, while on assignment for another project. I never had the chance to visit. The place struck me as so picturesque that I always felt like I had to go back.

After the Elbow parade, after Gallery 148, after the best milkshake in the world, we found ourselves in Riverhurst. We decided to take a walk downtown, explore another “Railway and Main” in Saskatchewan. We found a blue piano.

When I was growing up, the best milkshakes in the world were at the Dairy Bar. It was in the middle of nowhere, but the milkshakes were worth the effort. The Dairy Bar is long gone. But this summer we found the best milkshakes in the world.

I don’t know where people get the idea that art galleries are stuffy places to be avoided. Art galleries are great places to get to know a community. You find some amazing art and even more amazing people.
